In honor of one of our favorite holidays, National Grilled Cheese Day, we joined Tillamook and San Francisco cheeseaholics at The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen (AGCK) last Friday, April 12 for the ultimate grilled cheese party. Doors opened at 5pm, but the line for free grilled cheese sandwiches made its way around the entire patio by 4:45pm. Tillamook kitchen chefs and owners of The AGCK, Nate Pollack and Heidi Gibson, had prepared for over 300 guests to arrive, and once the clock hit 5pm it was non-stop action for 2 straight hours.
With bean bag toss, $3.50 draft beers, a #cheeseaholic Instagram contest, and an art wall, there was never a dull moment. Tillamook brand ambassadors, who took to the streets the week leading up to the event, were also onsite giving out fun prizes and Tillamook swag.
Overall the event was a huge success thanks to Tillamook, The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, the Henry V events team, our blogger and media friends, and of course all of the guests. Even though National Grilled Cheese Day only comes around once a year, we will continue to celebrate the ooey, gooey, melted sandwich throughout the rest of April. Okay let’s be honest, we never really stop celebrating grilled cheese.
